Enemies Hub

The Enemies Hub for Expedition Into Darkness is your field guide to the things that want your character dead. Antediluvian Interactive’s medieval third-person co-op dungeon crawler and extraction looter (Steam app 3126410, planned Q4 2026) fills procedural ruins with packs that punish greed. Party size is 1–5. Permadeath deletes the character and everything on their body. Only the camp stash is safe. Reading this hub will not save a bad leave — but it will stop you from walking blind into a Fleshkin rush or an Ogre Grab.

Use these pages with combat and controls, how to extract, the map hub, and beginner builds so every fight still ends in a living courier.

Start with the family that killed you last run. New players usually meet Fleshkin and Goblins on The Moor before Bonekin owns Catacomb hallways.

Fleshkin — they come screaming

Fleshkin are animated corpses driven by bloodlust. Expect Corpse variants, Wailers, Fencers, Graspers, and huge threats like the Bull and Biler. Common reagent talk includes Corpse Tongue; Bilers can yield Biler’s Bile. They convert empty stamina into a chase you cannot deny. Sidestep the rush, spend one punish window, then reset — details and loadout notes live on the Fleshkin page and in combat and controls.

Goblins — Blackblood pack hunters

Goblins are knife-happy scavengers from the Blackblood clans. Alone they feel soft; in packs they are lethal. Learn Archer, Spearman, Grenadier, Shaman, Sergeant/Captain pressure, and the Ogre whose Grab can kill. Farm Goblin Finger from the rank-and-file and respect Ogre Ear as a high-risk extract goal. Watch the Goblin expedition footage on that page, then practice peeks with a reach kit from beginner builds.

Bonekin — cold bones without end

Bonekin march without haste, without fear, and without end. Skeleton packs trick greedy players into long animations in Catacomb chokes. Chip carefully, keep a lane open toward a known exit, and never “finish loot” while a shield wall still stands. Pair the Bonekin page with the map hub before you commit to deep tunnels.

Bosses and skull markers

Bosses covers how to read boss skull markers on maps, when to engage, and — more importantly — when to walk away. A skull is not a quest marker; it is a risk tax on carried loot. If bags are already full, how to extract beats a heroic wipe.

Enemy knowledge only pays off when it changes decisions:

  1. Fight fundamentals — stamina, spacing, weapon roles: combat and controls.
  2. Leave on purpose — exits and leave triggers: how to extract.
  3. Know the ground — region feel and routes: map hub.
  4. Bring the right kit — starter spears, backups, and pack tools: beginner builds.

Sibling deep dives: Fleshkin, Goblins, Bonekin, Bosses.

How to use this hub before a run

A useful pre-drop ritual:

  1. Name the enemy family you expect on your chosen region.
  2. Open that family page and pick one counter habit (backstep punish, archer priority, lane control, or skip-skull).
  3. Confirm a primary and backup exit on the map.
  4. Equip a finished kit from beginner builds — not a shopping cart.
  5. Set a leave trigger before the first pack fight.

Treat every engagement as an economy event. Winning a fight while dying twenty meters from the exit still loses the character. Bookmark this hub, jump to the family that matches your next route, and come back after playtests shift pack behavior on the road to Q4 2026.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which enemy page should beginners open first?

Start with Fleshkin and Goblins — they dominate early Moor runs. Add Bonekin before Catacomb tunnels, then Bosses once you are hunting skull markers on purpose.

Do enemy drops matter if I die?

Yes. Carried drops like Corpse Tongue, Goblin Finger, or Ogre Ear are lost on permadeath. Only items already in the camp stash remain safe.

Where do combat fundamentals live?

Combat and Controls covers stamina, spacing, and weapon roles. This hub links each enemy family so you can apply those fundamentals to real packs.

Should I always fight boss skull markers?

No. Skull markers are optional high-risk set pieces. If bags are full or the party is injured, extract instead — see How to Extract and the Bosses page.

Is this guide for solo or co-op?

Both. Expedition Into Darkness supports solo play and parties of up to five. Pack roles change in co-op, but family behaviors stay the same.

When is the game releasing?

Steam lists a planned Q4 2026 window for Expedition Into Darkness (app 3126410) from Antediluvian Interactive. Enemy rosters may expand through playtests.
